HİCRAN AKAALP
Hicran Akaalp was born in Mardin, Turkey in 1980. She is a self-taught photographer, focusing on cultural superstitions, still life and surreal photography. Mostly she works on long term photo-based projects. She also interested in video art and short movie. At 2019, she directed short movie called ‘Harmony’. Her work explores community and the interactions within it. She loves creating images that make the viewer not only feel as if they are stepping into the real but also into the dream.
Akaalp graduated from Ege University with an undergraduate degree in Agricultural Engineer, and she has been doing her PhD.
